POLICE SEEK SUSPECT IN PHARMACY HEIST

Windsor Police are searching for a suspect after a pharmacy was robbed of a large quantity of prescription narcotics last night.  At 7:10 p.m. yesterday, a lone male suspect walked into a drug store in the 3900 block of Seminole St. through the front door and proceeded immediately to the pharmacy area at the rear of the store.  The suspect was wearing a disguise consisting of a fake black beard and moustache and a long blonde wig past the shoulders. An employee of the store immediately recognized the suspect as the same man who had robbed the same store of prescription narcotics on August 19, 2009.  Upon seeing the suspect, the employee immediately called police.  The robbery in August also took place just after 7:00 p.m.

The suspect walked behind the counter and proceeded directly to the safe and demanded that the pharmacist open it.  The suspect was holding what appeared to be a piece of black steel pipe in his right hand and was partially concealed in his shirt sleeve.  The pharmacist opened the safe and the suspect began filling a white plastic bag that he had brought with prescription narcotics.  The suspect then calmly walked to the front of the store and exited through the front door.  A witness in the parking lot observed the suspect walk through the parking lot then walk north in the alley between George Ave and Aubin Rd.  A K9 unit who arrived shortly after was able to track the scent of the suspect north in the alley to Metcalfe Rd. where it is believed that the suspect may have gotten into a vehicle.

The suspect was wearing the same disguise as he wore during the August robbery and was captured on surveillance video (pictures attached).  The suspect is described as a white male, 5'5",late 30's, wearing a fake black beard and moustache, a blonde wig with the hair past the shoulders. The wig may have been attached to a light coloured ball cap the suspect was wearing. He was wearing sunglasses, white cotton gloves, a grey sweater with black horizontal stripes and black pants.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of this suspect is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

Copies of the store surveillance video are available to be picked up at the front kiosk at Windsor police Headquarters.
