POLICE LOOKING FOR SUSPECTS IN ASSAULT.

The Windsor Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in identifying three suspects after a serious assault took place downtown.  At 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, a group of people were attempting to hail a cab from the east sidewalk in the 600 block of Ouellette Ave.  As they were attempting to flag down the cab, three males walking along the same sidewalk made some comments to and "bumped" into one of the men in the group.  The man responded to the comments and was immediately set upon by all three males. The suspects began punching the victim who fell to the ground.  Witnesses observed one of the suspects kick the victim in the head while he was laying on the ground unconscious.  All three suspects fled the area on foot prior to police arrival.

The victim was transported to Hotel Dieu Hospital with life threatening head injuries.  The victim remains in hospital but his condition has been upgraded to stable.

At the time of this assault,  the downtown area was extremely busy and there were large numbers of people exiting establishments in the area.  Police are requesting that anyone having any information as to the identities of the three suspects to call  Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4390 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1 - Male, Lebanese descent, 20 years old, olive coloured complexion wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans.

Suspect #2 - Male, Lebanese descent, 20 years old, olive coloured complexion

Suspect #3 - Male, Lebanese descent, 20 years old, Olive coloured complexion.
