| POLICE SEEKING DRIVE THROUGH BANDIT | ||
Windsor Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a suspect after a robbery and an attempt robbery at two separate fast food restaurants in the east end of the city this weekend. At 1:35 a.m. on Saturday April 10, 2010, a female employee was working the Drive Thru window of the Burger King located in the 7900 block of Tecumseh Rd. E. when she observed a man standing at the window with his face covered and pointing a black coloured hand gun in her direction. The suspect had opened the window from the outside. The suspect ordered her to give him the money from the cash register. The 22 year old employee complied and handed the suspect a quantity of cash. Upon receiving the money, the suspect fled on foot southbound through the parking lot. A K9 unit attempted tracking the suspect but was unsuccessful. The employee was not physically injured during the robbery. At 2:25 a.m. on Sunday April 11, 2010, a male employee working at the Wendy's Restaurant in the 7600 block of Tecumseh Rd E. observed a man matching the same description of the suspect involved in the robbery the on the previous day, standing at the Drive Thru window also holding a black coloured hand gun and motioning the employee over to the window. The suspect's face was covered and the window remained closed. The employee ducked down behind the counter and yelled out to his colleagues to call 911. The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction and did not receive any money. The employee was unharmed. A surveillance video captured images of the suspect approaching the Burger King window and also fleeing the scene. Investigators believe that the same suspect is responsible for both incidents and are asking anyone who may have any information regarding the identity of the suspect to contact Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477). A copy of the surveillance video images of the suspect is available to be picked up at WPS Headquarters at the front kiosk in the main lobby. Please also find attached two still photographs taken from the surveillance video. The suspect is described as a male, white, 19-25 years, 6' tall, medium build. His face was covered with black cloth material and he was wearing a green camouflaged fishing hat, a navy blue zippered windbreaker with a logo on the left breast and blue jeans. ![]() ![]() - 30 - |
