| SUSPECT CHARGED WITH ARSON IN EAST END FIRE | ||
Windsor Police have a man in custody after a fire in the city's east end earlier this week. At 9:00 am on Monday, April 12, 2010, Windsor Fire and Police responded to a working fire at Tony's Auto Clinic at 11380 Tecumseh Rd E. Upon arrival, they found the building to be fully engulfed by flames. With the assistance of the Ontario Fire Marshal and the Windsor Fire Service, the Windsor Police Arson Unit conducted an exhaustive investigation including the execution of a Criminal Code search warrant and the demolition of the building. The examination of the scene revealed that the cause of the fire was determined to be arson. This determination was contradictory to the statement provided to investigators by the employee who was in the building at the time the fire started. The damage caused by the fire is estimated to exceed $500,000.00 Samir SALMAN - 28 years of Windsor is charged with one count of Arson. He will appear in court today to answer to the charge. |
