| TWO CHARGED IN BREAK AND ENTER | ||
Windsor Police have two men in custody after they were observed by officers breaking into a business in the downtown core early this morning. At 1:45 a.m. today, officers observed two men familiar to them acting suspiciously in an alley located in the 200 block of Wyandotte St E. The officers observed one of the men wearing white gloves throw a rock through the glass pedestrian door of a business in the 200 block of Wyandotte St E. while the second man stood across the street acting as a look out. After smashing the glass door, the man entered the business and then seconds later, he exited through the same door. Both men fled on foot north in the alley. Officers were able to catch up to the suspects on Goyeau St near the Tunnel entrance and arrested both men without incident. A search of the suspect seen entering the business revealed a quantity of cash consistent with the amount taken from the cash register at the business. Both men were also each still in possession of a pair of white gloves. Robert ROCKWOOD - 38 years of Windsor and Randy WRIGHT - 23 years of Windsor are both charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Break and Enter Tools. In recent weeks, there have been a number of break and enters to commercial properties in the City of Windsor. In the majority of these occurrences, rocks were used to smash out the glass pedestrian doors in order to gain entry. - 30 - |
