| LARGE ECSTASY SEIZURE RESULTS IN CHARGES | ||
Two Toronto area residents and one Windsor man are in Windsor Police custody facing charges after a large quantity of ecstasy tablets were seized yesterday afternoon. On Wednesday August 11, 2010, officers of the WPS Drugs and Guns Unit observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between three suspects at the rear of a business in the west end of the city. Officers followed one of the suspect vehicles to a hotel in the 2000 block of Huron Church Rd. where they moved in and arrested a man and a woman in the parking lot of the hotel. A search of the trunk of the vehicle revealed several bags containing a large quantity of ecstasy tablets (MDMA). Over 20,000 ecstasy tablets were seized from the vehicle. The total estimated street value of the tablets is over $201,000.00. Arons LO(male) - 56 years and Yan Li WANG(female) - 43 years, both of Toronto are each facing a charge of Possession of Schedule III Substance(ecstasy) for the Purpose of Trafficking. Cheuk Ki WU - 51 years of Windsor was arrested at 12:30 p.m. today and will be charged with trafficking in a Schedule III Substance(ecstasy) and also Failing To Comply With Conditions Of a Judicial release. It should be noted that Cheuk Ki WU is currently charged with several drug related offences as a result of a massive marihuana grow operation discovered last week in the City of Windsor. Mr. WU was released from custody on a bail surety on Tuesday August 10, 2010 with court imposed conditions. He was identified as one of the suspects involved in the MDMA transaction less that 24 hours after being released from custody. - 30 - |
