ROBBERY SUSPECTS SOUGHT

Windsor Police are investigating after a robbery took place at a residence in the city's near east side last night.  At 8:55 p.m. on Thursday December 9, 2010, uniformed patrol officers responded to a multi unit dwelling in the 700 block of Langlois Ave. for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, officers were met by the residents of one of the apartments who advised officers that four or five black males had just broken into the apartment, assaulted one of the occupants with a handgun and threatened the other three before stealing a number of items and cash.

The investigation revealed that the four occupants - three males and a female had been watching television in different rooms within the apartment when four or five suspects broke through the apartment door.  One of the suspects produced a black handgun and struck the 23 year old victim in the face with the weapon resulting in the victim sustaining some minor abrasions.  The other suspects continued through the apartment and confronted the other three occupants in a back room watching television.  The suspects demanded the victims  money and a quantity of cash was handed over to the suspects.  These three victims - all in their early twenties, did not sustain any physical injuries.  The suspects then went through the apartment and removed electronic equipment including a cell phone and a laptop computer.  The suspects also located a number of potted marihuana plants inside the apartment and took them as well.  Officers investigating the robbery located electronic equipment consistent with a marihuana grow operation inside the apartment.

The suspects then exited the apartment and were last seen running east bound on Cataraqui St.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

The description of the suspect in possession of the handgun is a male, black, 5'9", short hair with corn rows, medium build, wearing a black toque and a green plaid patterned jacket.

The remaining four suspects are described as black males, dark skinned, ranging from 16-25 years in age.  They were all dressed in black clothing and were wearing puffy jackets and hoodies.
