| WINDSOR POLICE MAKE "MOVEMBER" DONATION | ||
| The Windsor Police Service has concluded the
"MOVEMBER" fundraising efforts and we are proud to announce
that the Service will be donating a total of $1600.00
directly to the Windsor and Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
The month long fundraiser was spearheaded by Constable Albert Frederick Jr. For the second consecutive year, Constable Frederick has encouraged members of the Windsor Police Service to grow moustaches and collect pledges in support of their efforts. Five uniform platoons as well as a number of investigative personnel participated in this event. As mentioned previously, the funds will be donated to the Windsor and Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation in support of local prostate programs. Administrator of the WECCCF, Nancy Gibbons advises that " The Windsor Police Service donation is the only one being made directly to the foundation and as such, the funds remain local. All other Windsor donations were sent to the Provincial office in Toronto". The Windsor Police Service donation is being made in the name of retired Police Sergeant Steve Cincurak who was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and is currently battling the disease.
