| POLICE INVESTIGATING PAIR OF ROBBERIES | ||
Windsor Police are investigating two separate but similar robberies that occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday Feb 23. At 1:00 a.m. this morning, uniformed officers responded to the intersection of Wyandotte St. E. at Louis Ave for an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, Officers found a n 18 year old man sitting on the sidewalk bleeding from his nose and mouth. His right eye was also bruised and swollen. The victim advised officers that he was walking along Wyandotte St E at Louis when he was approached by three men also walking. One of the men asked the victim for a cigarette. When he advised them he didn't smoke, he was pulled down to the ground by one of the suspects and then all three set upon him by kicking him and punching him repeatedly in the head. While the suspects were carrying out the assault, they demanded money from the victim. as the assault continued, the victim dropped his "Blackberry " cell phone. One of the suspects picked it up and all three suspects fled on foot to a black vehicle parked on Louis just north of Wyandotte St. It is believed that a fourth person was waiting in the vehicle. The vehicle sped away north on Louis Ave. The victim was transported to Hotel Dieu hospital where he was treated for a fractured orbital socket. The suspects in this robbery are described as follows: Suspect#1 Male, possibly of Arabic descent, 18-20 years, 5'10", 180 lbs, clean shaven, wearing a black jacket and a black toque. He also had a noticeable "overbite". Suspect#2 Male, white, 18-20 years, wearing a white sweater and red toque. Suspect#3 Male, white 18-20 years. At 3:30 a.m. also this morning, police responded to a robbery with a similar set of circumstances where a 20 year old man was walking north on Rankin Ave approaching Wyandotte St. when a white coloured vehicle travelling north on Rankin pulled up along side of him. A male exited the passenger side of the car and asked the man for a cigarette. A second man exited the vehicle and the victim started running north on Rankin. The suspects chased down and knocked him to the ground where the victim was punched once in the face. While falling down ,the victim dropped his cell phone. One of the suspects picked it up and then both suspects ran back to the car which sped away south on Rankin Ave. It is also believed that another man waited in the driver's seat of the vehicle during the robbery. The victim also attended hospital where he was treated and released for a sore nose and scrapes to his face. The suspects in this robbery are described as follows: Suspect#1 Male, white, 20 years, 5'9", medium build, wearing blue jeans and a white ball cap. Suspect#2 Male, white - age unknown. Police are currently investigating these two incidents and it is unknown at this time if the same suspects are responsible for both robberies.
