ROBBERY SUSPECTS SOUGHT

Windsor Police are investigating two more robberies that occurred in different areas of the city early this morning. At 3:00 a.m. this morning, uniformed officers responded the the intersection of Dufferin St. at Tuscarora St. for a report of a robbery.  Upon arrival, they spoke to the 24 year old male victim.  The victim advised police that he and his 24 year old girlfriend had been walking south on Dufferin St approaching Tuscarora St. when a man ran up to them from behind and struck the victim in the head with his forearm.  The suspect demanded that the victim empty his pockets.  The victim told the suspect he didn't have any money. As this was occurring four other men came running to the victim and tried to hit him but missed. The original suspect then pulled out a black hand gun from his pocket and pointed it at the victim's head and demanded his money again.  The victim complied by taking out his wallet and throwing it on the ground.  The suspect picked up the wallet, took a quantity of cash from it and threw it back at the victim.  All five suspects then ran north on Dufferin St. toward Wyandotte St. The suspects were observed on surveillance video getting into two separate vehicles - one light coloured and one dark coloured which then exited the parking lot at the corner of Dufferin at Wyandotte St.  During the  robbery, the victim's girlfriend ran from the scene to summon some friends from a nearby establishment.  The victim or his girlfriend did not sustain any injuries.  All five of the suspects involved in this robbery were described by the victims as being young males of Arabic descent.

At 3:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to the 500 block of Sunset Ave. for another robbery similar in nature.  In this occurrence, a 22 year old male was walking on Sunset when he was confronted by two men.  One of the men pulled a knife with a three inch blade and demanded the victim's money.  The victim ran north on Sunset but slipped on some ice and fell to the ground. The suspects, who were in close pursuit caught up to the victim and as he was lying on the ground, one of the suspects reached into the victim's coat pocket, grabbed his wallet, took a quantity of cash and a credit card then threw the wallet back at the victim. The suspects then ran south on Sunset and made their escape.  Several  minutes later, the victim's credit card was used to make several purchases at retail outlets in the west end of the city.  Surveillance video at one of these outlets indicates that the suspects may have been in a light coloured vehicle. The victim was not injured.

Descriptions of two of the suspects are very similar in both robberies. They are as follows:

Suspect #1- Male, Arabic descent, 20 years old, 5'9" 150 lbs, short dark hair with a light trimmed beard , wearing a dark coloured Pea coat and blue jeans.

Suspect #2 - Male, Arabic descent 20 years old, 6'0" 200 lbs, heavy build, wearing a dark coloured Pea coat and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information regarding these two robberies is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

The investigation is ongoing and at this time, police believe that the suspects involved may be responsible for both robberies.  It is also possible that these suspects may be connected to the two robberies  which occurred early Tuesday morning - one downtown and one in the west end of the city.
