| GROW OPERATION RESULTS IN CHARGES | ||

Windsor Police have charged two men after executing a search warrant on the city's east side yesterday afternoon. Officers from the PAVIS (Provincial Anti Violence Intervention Strategy) Unit received information of a grow operation and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 1700 block of Labadie Rd. At 5:00 p.m. yesterday, officers attended the address and were met at the door by the owner's 24 year old daughter and 3 year old grand daughter. A search of the residence revealed a number of marijuana plants in various stages of maturity and also electrical equipment consistent with a marijuana grow operation. The marijuana and equipment were seized by the officers. During the search, the owner of the residence and his brother arrived home and were arrested. A bag of loose marijuana was found on each man during a subsequent search after their arrest. The value of the seized marijuana totalled approximately $38,000. Two Windsor brothers - a 47 year old man and a 49 year old man face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act including Production of Cannabis Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. - 30 -
