| ASSAULT CHARGE LAID AFTER BAR ALTERCATION | ||
Windsor Police have charged a 19 year old Belle River man with assault after an altercation in a downtown bar early Sunday morning. At 1:50 a.m. on May 30 2010, a uniformed police officer was working at a a licenced establishment in the 600 block of Ouellette Ave. when his attention was drawn to a commotion on the outside patio. He observed a 20 year old man covering his mouth with his hand and blood on the corners of his mouth. There were several other men in close proximity shouting at each other. The officer approached the group of men to investigate. The man with his hand over his mouth pointed to a man standing nearby and advised the officer that this man had struck him. The officer spoke with the suspect briefly then placed him under arrest for assault. The victim sustained a chipped tooth but did not require immediate medical treatment. Zackery KASSIAN - 19 years of Belle River is facing a charge of Assault. He was released from custody on a Promise To Appear in court at a future date. - 30 - |
