POLICE SEEKING ROBBERY SUSPECT

Windsor Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a convenience store in the city's east side last night. At 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday night, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store in the 4900 block of Wyandotte St. E., approached the counter brandishing a silver coloured hand gun and pointed it at the male clerk.  he demanded the cash from the register and told the clerk to put the money in a black laptop bag he was carrying.  As the robbery was taking place, a customer entered the store and observed the suspect at the counter.  The suspect approached the customer, pointed the handgun in his direction and told him to "move" before exiting the store.

The suspect fled the store on foot southbound through an alley next to the store.  A K9 unit attended and performed a track but lost it a short distance from the scene.  The clerk was shaken up but not physically harmed during the robbery.  The suspect escaped with a quantity of cash from the store.

Anyone with any information regarding this robbery or the suspect responsible is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

The suspect is described as a male, white, 25-30 years old, 5'9", skinny build wearing all black pants, shoes, hoody, and black baseball batting gloves with a white Nike swoosh on the top of the glove.  He was also wearing a black hat, aviator sun glasses and a black scarf covering his face.  He was also carrying a black "laptop" bag with beige trim.

The robbery suspect was captured on the store surveillance video.  Copies of this video will be made available for pick up at WPS Headquarters from the officer at the main kiosk.
