| POLICE SEEKING SEXUAL ASSAULT SUSPECT | ||
The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for a sexual assault over the weekend on the city's near west side. On Saturday June 12, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. a 43 year old woman was waiting at a Transit Windsor Bus shelter at the corner of University Ave at Randolph Ave. While waiting at the shelter, she observed a young man riding a small mountain bike around the streets and sidewalk near her. She watched as the man rode to a convenience store, went in then re-emerged and began riding the bike around the apartment building next to the bus shelter. The woman was keeping an eye on the man as she felt his behaviour was somewhat suspicious. The woman saw the Transit Windsor bus coming down the street toward her stop and she got off the bench where she was seated to go to the edge of the curb. As she was standing at the curb waiting for the bus, she heard a commotion behind her. She looked behind her to find the man on his bike next to her. The man then grabbed the woman's breast and slapped her buttock forcefully before riding off on his bike west on University Ave. The suspect was captured on surveillance video at the convenience store and the images are attached. Anyone with any information as to the identity of this suspect is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4315 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477). The suspect is described as a male, white, 16-18 yrs, 5'5", medium build, wearing a white tank top, beige khaki cargo shorts to the knees, black running shoes, shoulder length dirty blond hair neatly cut. He was riding a light coloured small mountain bike with peeling clear tape on the handle bars and frame. Suspect images attached below.   - 30 - |
