| PREGNANT WOMAN FOILS PURSE SNATCHING | ||
Windsor Police are seeking the assistance of the public after a suspect riding a bicycle attempted to steal a purse from a woman who is seven months pregnant. At 6:10 p.m. yesterday, the woman was walking to her car in the parking lot of the Central Mall in the 3000 block of Tecumseh Rd. She was carrying her purse along with some plastic shopping bags in her hands. As she made her way to her vehicle, a young man on a bicycle rode by her closely, northbound in the parking lot. Seconds later, a second man riding a bicycle behind the first man grabbed the victim's purse as he rode by. The victim managed to hold onto the purse but the force of the pull as the suspect rode by caused the victim to fall forward on her knees. The suspect released his grasp on the purse and was last seen riding northbound on Central Ave. together with the second suspect. The victim was shaken up and sustained some abrasions to both knees as a result of the fall. She did not require medical treatment. She was able to maintain possession of her purse. Officers attending the scene were unable to locate any witnesses to the incident. Suspect # 1 is described as a male, white, 20 years old, wearing a black spring jacket, black pants and a black ball cap. He was riding a smaller "chopper" style bike.
