| SECOND ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED DURING CRIME SPREE | ||
Windsor Police have the second suspect from a robbery two weeks ago in custody after he broke into two businesses early this morning. Windsor Police had issued an arrest warrant for Jayson THEORET as a result of a robbery which had taken place on Feb 23, 2010 in the 600 block of Josephine St. where a woman and her daughter were robbed of a quantity of cash and oxycontin at knifepoint. At 3:05 a.m. this morning, uniformed officers responded to a retail store in the 3000 block of Legacy Park Dr. where a witness reported seeing a suspect exit the building through a smashed 5'x10' plate glass window and run northbound on Provincial Rd. The witness also observed a van parked in front of the store drive away. The window had been smashed with a paving stone and upon arrival, officers found a quantity of electronic merchandise in a garbage can next to the window. The merchandise was ready to be loaded into the van but the suspects were interrupted by the witness. The van left the scene toward Walker Rd. At 3:51 a.m. this morning, officers responded to the glass break alarm at an auto dealership in the 1000 block of Provincial Rd. Officers arrived to find a suspect in the car lot attempting to get into several cars in the lot by using the keys he had just removed from the dealership building after breaking in. Officers discovered a smashed window on the building which was used to gain entry. Officers found several sets of car keys on the ground where the suspect was located. The suspect also matched the description of the man wanted in the earlier break and enter on Legacy Park. As a result of this morning's activities, Jayson THEORET - 23 years is facing six charges including Break and Enter, Theft Over $5000, Possess Break In Instruments, Breach Probation and Failing To Comply With A Condition Of A Judicial Release. THEORET is also charged with Robbery, Break And Enter, assault With A Weapon and Uttering Threats To Cause Death in relation to the events of two weeks ago on Josephine Ave. - 30 - |
