THREE CHARGED AFTER SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED

Windsor Police have three suspects in custody after executing search warrants on two separate residences yesterday afternoon.  At 3:45 p.m. on Monday March 29, 2010, officers from the Provincial Anti Violence Intervention Strategy (PAVIS) arrested three suspects in a vehicle in the 2800 block of Howard Ave. after receiving information that all three were involved in the production of cannabis marihuana. A quantity of loose marihuana of a value of $1600 was seized from a 16 year old young person subsequent to his arrest.  Also arrested at this time were a 53 year old man and a 33 year old woman.

Officers then attended 3262 Sandwich St. Apt #103 - the residence of the man and woman and executed a search warrant.  As a result, a quantity of loose marihuana of a value of $325 was seized.  Officers then attended a residence located at 3567 Howard Ave and executed a search warrant there. At this residence, officers discovered a working marihuana grow operation. The investigation revealed that the house was being rented by the man and woman for the purpose of producing marihuana. The house was not being "lived in".  Officers seized 190 cannabis marihuana plants in various stages of growth and over 4000 grams of loose marihuana. The total value of the seized cannabis marihuana totalled $95, 670.00.  Officers also seized a quantity of equipment used in the production of the marihuana.

The following are facing charges of Production of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance:

Charles GOYETTE - 53 years of Windsor
Tammy MALOT - 33 years of Windsor
A 16 year old male young person who cannot be identified under the YCJA.

All three will appear in court for bail hearings.

The PAVIS Unit is a provincial intitiative comprising of officers from Windsor PS, LaSalle PS and Amherstburg PS.
