| POLICE SEEK INFORMATION ON HIT AND RUN | ||
Windsor Police are seeking the assistance of the public after a hit and run last week left a motorcyclist injured. On Thursday May 20, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. a man was operating his blue Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Central Ave in the left turning lane approaching Grand Marais Blvd. Approximately 100 feet before the intersection, a dark blue Chrysler minivan also travelling northbound on Central Ave. approaching Grand Marais Blvd. suddenly changed lanes and sideswiped the motorcycle causing a collision. The motorcycle fell on top of the rider and as a result, the rider suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released from hospital with a fractured clavicle and several broken ribs. A witness travelling behind the motorcycle observed the collision and stopped to assist the injured motorcyclist. The witness observed the minivan continue to the intersection of Central at Grand Marais where it stopped briefly for the red light before turning left and proceeding west bound on Grand Marais. The witness was able to obtain a partial licence plate number of AFLP_ _ _ . The van may have sustained light damage to its passenger side.
