| SECOND ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED | ||
Windsor Police have the second suspect wanted in a vicious robbery in custody. Michael ALLARD - 27 years was wanted for robbery and several other offences as a result of a robbery which took place during the early morning hours on Friday, May 21, 2010. ALLARD was also wanted for mischief and escaping lawful custody after scaling an eighth floor apartment balcony to evade arrest on Monday night. At 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 26, 2010, Windsor Police Investigators received information that ALLARD was in an apartment building in the 1100 block of Ouellette Ave. Officers attended the building and arrested ALLARD in the lobby of the building after a brief struggle. ALLARD will appear in court today to answer to a litany of charges including robbery, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and mischief. He will also be charged with a count of resisting arrest. The Windsor Police Service would like to take the opportunity to praise the work of the media and the public in assisting the police service in bringing the suspects in this case into custody as quickly as possible. Upon receiving the surveillance video images of the suspects from investigators, the various media outlets in the city posted these pictures generating a great deal of public interest and subsequent phone calls from the public. The information received from the public was the leading contributing factor in the arrest of both accused in this matter. - 30 - |
