| MAN AND WOMAN FACING DRUG CHARGES | ||
| Windsor Police have a man and a woman in custody facing
numerous charges after a large quantity of drugs were seized yesterday.
Officers from the Drugs and Guns Unit had received information that a
male party was active in trafficking in marihuana. At 5:30 p.m. on
Tuesday November 2, 2010 officers from the D.I.G.S. Unit stopped a green
Ford Ranger pick up truck on Homedale Ave. at Wyandotte St. E. which was
being driven by the suspect. Officers arrested the suspect and a
subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a "Reebok" hockey bag in the
bed of the truck. Officers found fourteen vacuum sealed bags
containing cannabis marihuana inside the hockey bag. The hockey
bag contained a total of 16272 grams of marihuana. Officers also
located a black gym bag on the front seat of the truck which contained
four more vacuum sealed bags totalling 920 grams of marihuana. Officers then executed a search warrant at 839 Westminster Blvd. in the City of Windsor at 8:00 p.m. last night. Officers were met at the door by the female resident of the house who was immediately arrested. A search of the residence uncovered three more vacuum sealed bags containing 3600 grams of marihuana. The following amounts of drugs were also seized from the residence: 3954 Percocet Tablets. 221 Ecstasy Tablets. 420 grams of MDMA Powder. Officers also found 20 Percocet tablets and 7 Ecstasy tablets on the female during a search of her person subsequent to arrest. Forty Three rounds of .38 calibre ammunition were also found inside the residence. The total street value of the seized marihuana, MDMA and Percocet tablets is estimated to be over $238, 000. Jesse THIBERT - 30 years of Tecumseh and Danielle PELADEAU - 29 years of Windsor are charged with five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. THIBERT is also charged with one count of Possession of Ammunition While Prohibited. - 30 - |
