| POLICE INVESTIGATE STRING OF ROBBERIES | ||
| The Windsor Police Service is investigating after three
robberies occurred within a one hour time span last night. At
8:15p.m. on Sunday October 31, 2010 a 36 year old female attended
Windsor Police Headquarters and advised the officer at the front counter
that she had been walking in the area of Marentette St. near
Assumption St. with her daughter when a male suspect riding a bicycle
grabbed her purse and rode off with it. The victim was not
injured. The purse contained identification and a quantity of
cash. the victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect
other than he was on a bicycle. At 8:50 p.m. last night, uniformed officers responded attended the alley located near Wyandotte St E at Marentette St. where they were met by a 47 year old man who advised that he had been confronted by two men who pushed him down to the ground and removed a quantity of cash from his jacket pocket. The first suspect was described as a male of unknown race with a skinny build, wearing dark jeans, a black hooded coat, dark glasses and a hat. The second suspect was a black male, short in height, stocky build wearing dark clothing and a hat. The victim suffered minor injuries consisting of a sore left shoulder and hip. At 9:15 p.m. last night, uniformed officers responded to the area of Parent St. at Ottawa St. where they were met by a 40 year old man who advised that he was walking to the 7/11 store at that location when he was approached by two suspects and struck on the head causing him to fall to the ground. The victim's wallet containing identification was removed from his back pocket. The suspects in this robbery were described as a male, white teenager on foot and a black male teenager riding a bicycle. The victim did not complain of any injuries as a result of the attack. Police are investigating the possibility that the same suspects are responsible for all three robberies.
