| ROBBERY SUSPECT SOUGHT | ||
| The Windsor Police Service is seeking the assistance of
the public in identifying a suspect who robbed a near downtown
convenience store this afternoon. At 2:40 p.m. today, uniformed
officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a
convenience store located at 1204 Howard Ave. Officers spoke with
the clerk who was not injured and learned that the suspect entered the
store approaching the counter and asked for a pack of cigarettes.
The suspect paid for the cigarettes and when the clerk opened the
register, the suspect reached into the till grabbing a quantity of cash.
The suspect then ran out of the store east on Giles Blvd. The suspect
cut through some yards and was observed by a witness getting into an
older model green Oldsmobile which was parked on Lillian St just south
of Giles Blvd. The partial licence plate number obtained by the
witness bore the letters BKFE. The suspect got into the drivers
seat of the vehicle and it was last seen travelling north on Lillian St.
then east on Erie St. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male, 35 years, 5'9", medium build, black short hair with sideburns reaching his mid - ear and a 5 o'clock shadow. He was wearing a black jacket with red stripes extending down the full arm length and a black skull cap.
