BAR FIGHT RESULTS IN INJURIES

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a suspect in a downtown assault yesterday morning.   At 1:30 a.m. on Sunday October 17, 2010,  Uniformed officers responded to the lobby of a hotel at 33 Riverside Dr. E.  Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from facial injuries including a broken nose, jaw and cheek bone.  The 44 year old victim advised officers that he had been drinking and socializing with several women in the bar on the second floor of the hotel when he was approached by a man who was upset and who challenged the victim to a fight outside of the bar.  The victim agreed and while the two were walking down the stairs to the lobby, the suspect began to punch the victim about the face repeatedly causing him to go unconscious.  Three other males who appeared to be acquaintances of the suspect came down the stairs and all four then fled through the front doors of the hotel and were last seen running west bound on Riverside Dr.

The victim was transported to Hotel Dieu hospital where he was treated and released for  non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with any information as to the identity of the suspect is asked to call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).

The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic descent, approximately 20 years,  5'8", medium build, short, black hair wearing blue jeans and a dark coloured t-shirt.
