POLICE SEEK PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a robbery suspect.  On Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 8:55 p.m. a lone male suspect entered a convenience store in the 4000 block of Seminole St. brandishing a large hunting knife and demanded money from the store clerk.  The suspect's face was covered with a black bandana.  The suspect fled the store on foot after receiving a quantity of cash and lottery tickets.  The suspect was last seen running east on Seminole St. and then south on Tourangeau Blvd.  The store clerk was not injured during the robbery.

A Windsor Police Service K9 Unit performed a "track" of the suspect. The track led officers to the driveway of a residence in the 1500 block of Tourangeau Blvd. where officers located a number of items of clothing similar to those worn by the suspect during the robbery.  The items of clothing had been thrown under a vehicle.  The items of clothing are a dark coloured hat bearing the word  "KANGOL" on the front and a black hoodie bearing the words "THIRTYTWO" on the front and two different unique designs on either side of the hood.  Photos of the clothing are attached to this media release.

The suspect in this robbery is described as a white male, 5'6", skinny build and in his early 20's.  He was wearing the above mentioned items of clothing along with dark pants, dark gloves and a bandana covering his face. The knife has not been recovered.

Investigators are requesting that anyone who may recognize this clothing as belonging to the suspect or anyone with any information as to the identity of the suspect to please call Windsor Police Investigations at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258 TIPS (8477).
