Intruders Rob Home Owner

Two men are in police custody following the robbery and abduction of a east side resident yesterday.  At 4:30 a.m., the twenty nine year old victim, was sleeping in his home located in the 900 block of Ford Boulevard.  He was awakened by noises coming from the kitchen.  He got up to look around and was confronted by a man holding a handgun.  The suspect forced the victim to open the front door, where a second suspect entered.

The suspects demanded money and the victim  handed over what he had on hand.  They then duct taped the victims hands, and legs.  The victim was forced into his own car and was taken to a bank, where they threatened him, to obtain his PIN number.  Once the number was obtained, one of the suspects went into the bank and withdrew cash from the ATM machine.

The suspects drove around the west end of Windsor with the victim bound in the back seat.  When they left the car for a moment, the victim managed to work the tape off his hands and legs, and escaped.  He ran to the area of Tecumseh Road and Prince Road, and called 911from a telephone booth.  A description of the victims vehicle was broadcast and a police unit on the east end of the city spotted it near the victims home.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it sped off, with the suspects abandoning it, on Westminster near the Railroad Tracks.  The vehicle caught fire and was destroyed.  The suspects escaped the area on foot.

Detectives attended two homes in the 1000 block of Buckingham Road last night.  A twenty year old man and 17 year old young offender were arrested.  A pellet pistol has been recovered.  Both suspects remain in police custody and will appear in court today, facing several charges, including, Robbery with a Firearm, Kidnapping, and Break and Enter..
