| Restaurant Owner Robbed | ||

Detectives are investigating an early morning robbery of a restaurant located in the 2200 block of Wyandotte Street East. At 5:30 a.m., the owner and his wife, were exiting the front door, intending to close up for the night. They were confronted by two men, both wearing ski masks. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and the other with a pepper spray like substance. They forced the pair back inside, demanding money. The owner was sprayed in the face with the substance and the suspects grabbed a bag he was carrying and fled the scene on foot. The victims suffered discomfort to their eyes, but did not require medical treatment. The interior of the restaurant had to be aired out, to clear it from the irritant, used by the suspects. The bandits made off with a bag of food. Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Branch are working on this case and asking anyone with information to call 255-6700 ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 258-TIPS (8477) Suspect # 1 is a male, 19 to 20 years old, appeared to be of East Indian, descent, 5'5", 130 to 140 lbs., wearing a dark jacket and pants. His face was covered with a dark, ski mask and he was armed with a hand gun. Suspect# 2 is described as male, 19 to 20 years old, appeared to be of East Indian descent, 5'8", 140-150 lbs., wearing a dark jacket and pants. His face was covered with a dark, ski mask and he was armed with a pepper spray like substance.
