Windsor Police are looking into the possibility that a vehicle belonging to the Windsor Police Service, may have been used in a break and enter. During the early morning hours of Saturday, December 6th, 2003, the outdoor fenced compound, of a Home and Garden business, located in the 900 block of Tecumseh Road West, was entered. A quantity of outdoor furniture and lawn and garden ornaments, were stolen. The items include an outdoor patio bar, chairs, urns and a six foot obelisk. These items are made from heavy gauge metal. A witness reported seeing a mid size, dark pick up truck, loaded with similar items during the early morning of December 6th, 2003. The pick up truck was last seen eastbound on Tecumseh Road and then headed south on Ouellette Avenue. The witness provided a licence plate number of the suspect vehicle. This vehicle has been identified as part of the Windsor Police Service, fleet of vehicles. The vehicle is a 1998, Dodge Dakota ,pick up truck, dark, purple in colour. Sometime late last night, or early this morning, the stolen items were returned to the business, by tossing them back over the fence.
