A sixty one year old Michigan woman was the victim of a purse snatching yesterday afternoon. At 2:25 p.m., the victim was having lunch with a friend at an Erie Street Restaurant. She went out to feed the parking meter for her car that was parked on Erie Street. As she was putting money into the meter, the suspect ran past and snatched the purse from her arm. She was not injured. The victims purse contained cash, personnel identification and prescription medicines. The suspect was last seen running North in the alley on the west side of Elsmere. Detectives of the Investigation Branch are working on this case and asking anyone with information to call 255-6700 ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 258-TIPS (8477). The suspect is described: Male, white, 16-19 years old, 5'8", 160 lbs., slender build, wearing a white T-Shirt and light blue jeans.
