A hand grenade and a piece of cannon fuse were found during a vehicle search by Canada Customs officers at the Ambassador Bridge last night.  A camper, driven by a 29 year old London, Ontario man, was directed into secondary inspection.  During an inspection of the vehicle, a hand grenade and piece of cannon fuse were found .  

Customs officials evacuated the immediate area near the camper.  The Windsor Police Explosive Disposal Unit attended the scene.  An examination of the grenade determined it was not live.  The hand grenade and cannon fuse were disposed of and the driver was released from the scene without charges.
