October Crime Statistics

 

Monthly Crime Statistics indicate that Crimes Against Persons, rose slightly last month, compared to the same period last year.  There were 201, reported occurrences, compared to 198, in October of 2002.  Family related assaults, dropped from 41 to 30, occurrences, while non family related assaults, increased from 70 to 81 occurrences.  Robberies and Attempts, rose from 8 occurrences in 2002, to 15, last month.

Crimes Against Property, rose from 1239 to1389, reported occurrences.  Break and Enters, increased from 176 to 197, and Motor Vehicle Thefts and Attempts, rose from 74 to 131.  Fraud offences, dropped from 80 to 67, occurrences, and Mischief Offences, dropped from 260 to 247 reported occurrences.

Motor Vehicle Collisions, dropped from 668 to 604, and persons injured in Motor Vehicle Collisions, dropped from 140 to 126.  There were 19 drivers, charged with Impaired Driving, last month, as well as 44 charges of Drive While Suspended, and 53 charges of Careless Driving.  The Huron Line Enforcement Detail, handed out 200 traffic violations, last month.  Of those, 96 were for Speeding, 17 Traffic Signal Violations and 87 various other charges.
