Sexual Assault Suspect Sought |

A suspect is being sought in connection to a series of serious sexual assaults against young women. The first incident occurred August 22, 2003, in the 9400 block of Tecumseh Road East. A teenaged girl was sexually assaulted. The second incident occurred October 29th, in the 6700 block of Raymond Avenue, where another teenaged girl was sexually assaulted. The most recent incident was on November 11th, and occurred on Wyandotte Street East near Pratt Place. A twenty year old woman was sexually assaulted. Investigators believe it is highly probable, the same person is responsible for all three attacks. All incidents occurred in the hours of darkness, ranging from 6:00 p.m., to 1:00 a.m. In each case, the victims were walking alone. The suspect concealed himself in an area out of public view. He appears as the suspect walks by and engages them in conversation. He then takes them to a secluded area and commits sexual assault. An investigative team, comprised of Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch, the Sexual Assault Unit and Forensic Specialists, has been formed to investigate these crimes. The suspect is described: Male, white, medium height and build. He wears dark clothing. See Composite of Suspect. ***Detectives would like to speak with a citizen who aided the victim in the November 11th, occurrence. After the assault the victim attended a convenience store on Wyandotte Street at Strabane Avenue. She approached a female customer and asked for help. The woman assisted the victim and drove her home. The citizen drove a dark green car with a child seat. Detectives would like to speak to this citizen. -30- |
