Citizens Help Nab Suspect |

An eighty five year old Windsor woman was the victim of a purse snatching yesterday. At 11:45 a.m., the victim was walking on Ouellette Avenue near Wyandotte Street, when she was attacked. The suspect ripped her purse away from her, knocking her to the ground. The incident was witnessed by two men, who were driving on Ouellette Avenue. One of the men used his cell phone to call police, while the other ran after the suspect. While following the suspect, the citizen spotted a police cruiser and pointed out the suspect to the officer. The suspect was arrested without incident. The purse was found in a dumpster about one block away. Nothing was taken. The victim ,was taken to Hotel Dieu Hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries. Craig Skilins 35, of Windsor, has been released to appear in court November 20th, 2003. He will be facing a charge of Robbery.
