Store Robbed, Owner Assaulted |

A convenience store, located in the 4200 block of Wyandotte Street East, was robbed yesterday. At 10:00 p.m., a masked suspect, armed with a brick, entered the store, demanding cash from the store owner. While the owner was walking towards the cash register, the suspect threw the brick at him, striking him on the face. When the suspect jumped over the counter, the victim grabbed at him and fought him off. The suspect ran from the store, without getting anything. The 47 year old victim, suffered a swollen jaw and ear from the assault. Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Branch are working on this case and asking anyone with information ,to call : 258-6700 ext. 4830, or Crime Stoppers, at 258-TIPS. The suspect is described: Male, 6 ft., 180 lbs., face covered with a mask, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark sweat pants and dark shoes with white parts towards the heel.
