Weapons Charges Laid

A twenty two year old man has been charged with pointing a firearm following an incident early Monday morning.  At 12:30 a.m., the suspect was walking across the street at Cataraqui Street at Hall Avenue.  A passenger in a vehicle that was stopped waiting for him to cross the road, yelled for him to hurry across.  

The two men exchanged words, when the suspect pulled out a handgun, cocked the hammer back and pointed it at the victim.  The victim fled the scene and reported the matter to police.  At 2:00 a.m., officers spotted a man who matched the description of the suspect on Wyandotte Street at Dougall Avenue.  The suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of a loaded air pistol.

Kenyatta Brown, 22, of Maidstone, has been charged with Pointing a Firearm and Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace.
