Man Robbed and Assaulted

Two men are in custody following an early morning robbery.   At 12:30 a.m., a 46 year old Windsor man,  was walking in the area of Wyandotte Street and Lincoln Road.  He was approached by two men riding bicycles.  They asked him for cigarettes.  The victim gave each of them a cigarette and continued to walk home.  As he walked up an alley towards his house, he was knocked off his feet and pushed against a parked car.  Two men repeatedly punched him and then took his wallet.  He recognized his attackers as the two men he had given cigarettes to earlier. Both suspects fled the scene.

Several police officers responded to the area including a police dog unit.  A bicycle was found lying in the 1000 block of Moy.  Police Dog Max tracked the area and recovered some clothing and the victims wallet.  Officers spotted a suspect riding a bicycle on Erie Street.  He was arrested without incident.  A second suspect was arrested walking in the 1000 block of Moy Avenue.

The victim suffered minor cuts and abrasions.  He did not require medical treatment. Two Windsor men, ages 51 and 32 remain in police custody.  They will appear in court today facing a charge of Robbery.
