Early Morning Robbery |

A convenience store in the 3800 block of Dougall Avenue was robbed early this morning. At 12:30 a.m., the clerk was working at the back of the store when the suspect entered. The suspect held a knife in his hand and demanded money. When the clerk opened the cash register, the suspect helped himself to some cash. He then took several packages of cigarettes and fled the scene. The clerk was not harmed. The suspect was last seen running west from the store. Detectives of the Criminal Investigation Branch are working on this case and asking anyone with information to call 255-6700 ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 258-TIPS (8477). The suspect is described: Male, white, 35 years old, 5'8", medium build, wearing a blue, denim jacket, blue jeans, a dark cap with a lighter brim, black shoes and gardening gloves. His face was covered with a white bandana.
