A traffic enforcement officer cruising the E.C. Row Expressway this morning was startled when a speeding motorcycle passed him at a high rate of speed. Shortly after midnight, the officer was eastbound from Dominion, when the motorcycle flew past the unmarked cruiser. The officer got behind the motorcycle and paced it to the Central Off Ramp at a speed of 225 km/hr. This is a posted 100 km/hr zone. The motorcycle was stopped by the officer as it stopped at the traffic signal at Central Avenue. Bassem Mazloum, 23, of Windsor, was issued a summons to appear in court in November. He is facing a charge of speeding 225 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.
