The Windsor Police Service has implemented the Law Enforcement and Records Managers Network (L.E.A.R.N.) Guideline for Police Record Checks as approved by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.

The L.E.A.R.N. Guideline for Police Record Checks is intended to assist police services
understand and apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures and directives to the
processing of Police Record Checks. It is also intended to promote consistency in
processing methods as well as terminology used throughout the Province of Ontario

Developed by a Sub-Committee of the OACP which included consultation with the following Stakeholders -

•  Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS)
•  The Ontario Human Rights Commission
•  The Information and Privacy Commission
•  Volunteer Toronto
•  Justice for Children and Youth
