Cadet Job Description
​Position Summary:
Under the Direction of the Staff Sergeant in Courts or the Staff Sergeant in Traffic Division,  Cadets shall perform such duties as lawfully assigned  and shall be accountable to their supervisors and other members as so designated.

The position of Cadet is not a permanent position. All Cadets will eventually advance to 4th Class Constables and attend the Ontario Police College. 
 
Position Duties Court Services:
• Mail pick up/sorting/delivery
• Maintain sick list for court
• Filing summons and subpoenas
• File Checks
• Courtroom duties
• Any other duties assigned by the NCO
 
Position Duties Summonses/Subpoenas:
• Prepare a list of summonses to be delivered
• Deliver summonses
• Record unsuccessful attempts
• Document information on persons who have moved
• Complete required daily reports
• Any other duties assigned by the NCO
 
Position Duties Traffic:
• Enter parking tickets into the excel spreadsheet
• Enter all Traffic Provincial notices into the Versadex system, reconcile the entries and split the tickets
• Enter notices of 12 hour suspensions
• Enter summonses in Versadex
• Split and distribute accident reports
• File MVA reports and Tow reports
• Print reports
• Release towed vehicles
• Inspect verify and cancel TTP notices
• Assist with telephone answering
• Greet the public and respond to inquiries at the counter
• Take statements and submit reports as required
• Any other duties assigned by the NCO
