Telephone Reporting Unit

If you do not have access to the Internet, or would prefer to speak to someone, certain types of calls where there is no suspect information are referred to the Telephone Reporting Centre (TRC). A report is completed over the phone, which informs officers where the criminal activity is taking place. A police officer is not dispatched and a case number will be given to provide to your insurance company.

Occurrences with known suspects are not eligible to be completed by the Telephone Reporting Centre.

Please call the Windsor Police E911 Centre at (519) 258-6111 to report the following TRC eligible occurrences:

Thefts (including attempted theft):
 
The following types of theft are not eligible for a telephone report:
  • Motor vehicles
  • Boats
  • Passports
  • Firearms and explosives
Property Damage/Mischief:

Any property damage or mischief caused by fire or explosion is not eligible for TRC.

Lost Property:

Excludes the following types of property:
  • Passports
  • Firearms or explosives
Fraud:
 
Obsene or Harrassing Phone Calls

Low Risk Missing Persons
